Sherl L. Streeter serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Mt. Pleasant Educational Development Corporation. She is a native of Houston, Texas and a retired professional Sales and Marketing executive manager who has worked in several states and at U.S. Postal Service Headquarters in Washington DC where her job was to recruit, manage, and train sales professionals. She has experience managing budgets, traveling frequently to build collaborative relationships, and working to motivate others to achieve mutually beneficial goals.
She is a former President and Executive Board Chair of the Baptist Ministers’ Wives and Widows Association (BMWWA) of Washington DC; immediate past Dean of Education for the Northeast Region of the International Association of Ministers Wives and Ministers’ Widows, Inc (IAMWMW); and the current editor of The Herald, the IAMWMW’s quarterly publication. She has held several key positions in nonprofit organizations and received special awards and recognition for her service.
She serves as a Lead Volunteer and spokesperson for AARP where she advocates before the Maryland State General Assembly and is a member of the AARP Capital Hill Strike Force where she advocates to members of Congress for issues important to citizens over the age of 50.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in business and technology management from the University of Maryland, a Master of Science in Nonprofit Management from Eastern University (PA), and an honorary Doctor of Philosophy in Christian Leadership from Restoration International University. She has also trained at the University of Chicago Graduate School (IL) and the Center for Leadership Development at Duke University (NC).
